The Dallas Center-Grimes girls’ track team used three event victories and a whopping 12 runner-up finishes to win the A division team title at the Ballard Relays on April 5.

The Fillies finished with 132 points, edging Carroll (128) and A-D-M (124) for the top spot. Madison Waymire won the 3,000-meter run in a meet-record 10 minutes, 47.83 seconds and also took the top spot in the 800.

The shuttle hurdle relay foursome of Maci Masching, Olivia Weaver, Bailey Norland and Kaitlin Wenell was also victorious.

Weaver was second in the high jump, as was Kennedy Jennings in the long jump and Sam Liebe in the 1,500.

The Fillies’ 4x100, 4x400, 4x800, sprint medley and distance medley teams all placed second as well.

"Overall, a very competitive meet with A-D-M, Carroll and Dallas Center-Grimes providing a glimpse of how tough the RRC meet will be next month," said Fillies coach Rich Kloster.
