The All-Raccoon River Conference baseball teams were released and the A-D-M baseball team is represented by five players on those lists. The Tigers had two first-team selections, two second-team selections and one honorable mention.
Junior pitcher Sam Kornstad and senior infielder Grant Goeden were named to the first team and senior outfielder Robby Sloss and junior utility player Ethan Herron were named to the second team. Senior Jackson VerWoert received an honorable mention.
Kornstad started nine games on the mound for the Tigers and finished with a record of 4-4. He had a 1.75 earned run average with 46 strikeouts while batters had a .195 batting average against him this season.
Goeden led the team in many offensive stat categories. He led the team in batting average (minnimun 35 at bats) with a .413 average, he led the team with 14 stolen bases on 15 attempts, 28 RBIs, three home runs, eight triples, 45 hits and 38 runs scored.
Goeden’s eight triples puts him in first in the state in Class 3A and tied for second over all classes in the state.
Sloss, the second-team selection had a .341 batting average with 16 RBIs, two doubles and 22 runs scored. Herron had a .197 batting average and 14 RBIs while starting nine games on the mound with a 4-5 record, a 4.61 ERA and 42 strikeouts while batters hit .218 against him this season.
VerWoert pitched in relief in nine games and had a 1-0 record with a 2.33 ERA and eight strikeouts in 15 innings pitched.
