With the cross country season moves on with week three of action, the high school scene is starting to see a few individuals stand out among the rest.
Two such individuals within the Dallas Center-Grimes boys’ cross country team have stood out with state wide recognition as noted in the latest Class 3A individual rankings.
Those two would be none other than the freshman, senior pair in Aidan Ramsey and Tyler Borneman.
Both Borneman and Ramsey were top ten finishers in their last outing at the DC-G Cross Country Invite. Ramesy took home a fourth place finish with a time of 17:36.7 while Borneman took home a sixth place finish and a time of 17:54.3.

Ramsey took home a fifth place finish in the season opener giving him no worse than a fifth place finish so far this season. Borneamn has been close behind, finishing 11th in the season opener and has started his final season with two back to back top 15 finishes.
In a season that was thought to be in the shadow of the senior laden group from last year, the 2018 Mustangs are sure making a name for themselves early, starting with Borneman and Ramsey. Both received quite high praise from boys head cross country coach Matt Pries earlier in the season.
“Both Tyler and Aidan are phenomenal runners,” began Pries. “You can tell that whether they’re a freshman or a senior, they’ve both put in the work throughout the off-season and it shows in they are able to preform at a high level almost effortlessly.”
Tyler and Aidan, along with the rest of the Mustang squad unfortunately saw their meet against Johnston at Camp Dodge cancelled Thursday night. That means the next time the Mustangs will take the course will be on Monday, September 1o and starting at 5 p.m.
