For the first time in over ten years, the Dallas Center-Grimes volleyball team will begin their season with a 4-0 start after sweeping their slate of games at the Fillie Invite yesterday.

The Fillies first matched up against Urbandale, a team that bested DC-G last season by a 2-0 mark. This time around the Fillies returned the favor winning both sets my a margin of 21-19. The margin of victory stayed the same to open up the match against Fort Dodge where the Fillies took set one 21-19 but then broke away in set two. It was a back and forth set until the Fillies rattled off five straight points to lead 16-8 and they never looked back from there winning set two 21-10.

The match up against Gilbert proved to be a breeze for the Fillies who took set one 21-12 and set two 21-10. Meanwhile DC-G’s match up against Des Moines Roosevelt proved a little easier winning 21-15 and 21-8.

The newly minted 4-0 Fillies will now entertain another invitational for their next outing as they will travel to Grinnell High School on Saturday, August 25 to battle conference foe Grinnell and non conference opponent Clear Creek-Amana.
