Dallas Center-Grimes girls’ golf bested Perry and Winterset at a meet Tuesday night. The Fillies posted a combined 210 to Perry’s 219 and Winterset’s 233.
DC-G’s Julia Austin recorded the second best score individually. She took 50 strokes in the nine-hole competition at Lakeview Country Club in Winterset. Only Perry’s Alyssa Kruger, who shot a 49, performed better.
Austin recently signed with Graceland University in Lamoni to further her education and continue golfing.
On Tuesday, Austin recorded five strokes on six of the nine holes to earn a runner-up finish.
Brooklynn Herrmann also performed well for DC-G at Winterset. She finished with a score of 51 and never took more than six strokes on any hole.
The Fillies’ Lydia Steier shot a 54. Reagan Stokely recorded 55 strokes on the day. Maddie Calease and Sarah Rauschenberg each posted a score of 59.
As a team, DC-G’s record improved to 20-11-2. The Fillies’ final regular season action will be Thursday at Woodland Hills Golf Course in Des Moines against Ballard and Bondurant-Farrar.
Regional competition will begin Monday, May 23 at Westwood Golf Course in Newton.
