Adel-DeSoto-Minburn girls’ golf finished first in the Raccoon River Conference Tournament on Monday, May 9 at Perry Country Club.
The Tigers were led by Tania Telford and Lindsey Lange. Telford posted the best score of any golfer in the tournament. In the 18-hole contest, she took 93 strokes on her way to victory.
Through the first nine holes, Telford’s score was 49. She found the hole in just three strokes on the sixth hole. For the final nine holes, the A-D-M senior put up a 44. This nine-hole score was matched only by her teammate, Lange.
Lange finished second individually at the conference competition. Besides one rough hole on the eighth, her scores were impressive and added up to 95 strokes in the end.
Lange and Telford were the only golfers to break 100 in the tournament, but A-D-M put together a team effort to take first place.
The Tigers combined for 399 strokes, which was 37 better than the nearest competing team, Perry.
Nicole Bever shot a 52 going out and coming back in to finish with 104 strokes for the day. Bailey Danner posted a round of 107, and Lydia Weighner finished at 121.
Overall, the Tigers dominated the conference meet. A-D-M will compete next in regionals on Monday, May 23 at Westwood Golf Course in Newton.
