Adel-DeSoto-Minburn boys’ golf finished second in the Raccoon River Conference Meet at Copper Creek Golf Course in Pleasant Hill on Monday.

The Tigers’ total score was 156, just one stroke more than the victorious Boone team. The conference meet was tightly contested, as Carroll and Ballard finished only one and three strokes behind A-D-M, respectively.

A-D-M’s top golfer for the day was Matthew West, who posted a 38 in the nine-hole competition. Playing the back nine at Copper Creek, he parred the 10th, birdied the 11th and parred the 12th. He also birdied the 14th and parred the 16th and 17th on his way to finishing two over par.

Micah Moyer and Will Geadelman each shot a 39 for the Tigers. Moyer came away with pars on the 10th, 11th, 15th and 16th holes. He also notched a birdie on the 14th.

Geadelman went par/birdie on the 10th and 11th. In addition, he parred the 14th, 15th, 17th and 18th holes to break 40.

Jacob Schumacher had a solid outing for A-D-M, finishing with 40 strokes. He recorded a birdie on the 11th, and after a less than stellar 13th hole, Schumacher performed strong with five straight pars.

Grant Curran finished the conference meet with a score of 42. Besides having a difficult time on the 10th hole, Curran shot well. He recorded a par on seven of the eight other holes.

Adam O’Connor shot a 50 for Tigers. He came away with pars on the 13th, 17th and 18th holes.

The two top golfers in the conference competition were Boone’s Dalton Huseman and Bondurant-Farrar’s Dylon Storey, who took 36 strokes each.

A-D-M’s West, Moyer and Geadelman all finished in the top-ten individually.

The Tigers’ next action will be a sectional meet at Atlantic Golf and Country Club on Friday, May 13.
