The All-Little Hawkeye girls’ basketball teams have been announced and six players from Dallas Center-Grimes have been honored. The Fillies had two first-team selections, two second-team selections and two honorable mentions on this year’s list.
Lexi Rosa and Allie O’Brien, both seniors, were named to the first team this year along with Deja Jackson and Sienna Durr of Grinnell, Katie Vander Molen and Jessica Holterhaus and Mackenzie Gustafson of Pella and Tori Van Velzen of Norwalk.
DC-G sophomore Rachel Lowary and DC-G freshman Jenna Borchers were named to the second team along with Maddie Wilkins of Grinnell, Micaela Jacobson of Newton, Miranda Hughes of Norwalk, Kiara Bradley of Pella and Alexis Westercamp of Oskaloosa.
Sophomore Brooke Kramer and junior Maci Masching received All-Conference honorable mentions.
Rosa led the Fillies in scoring, rebounding and blocks as she scored 10.9 points per game on average while pulling down 129 rebounds and making 24 blocks throughout the year. O’Brien scored 9.1 points per game on average while leading the team with 72 assists and 80 steals on the year.
Borchers was the Fillies’ leading 3-point threat as she knocked down a team-high 35-of-76 attempts, 46.1 percent, throughout the year, scoring 8.9 points per game on average. Lowary was second-best on the team in assists with 51, steals with 57 and blocks with 21 this year while scoring 5.6 points per game on average.
The Fillies finished the year with a 17-6 record and fell one game short of the State Tournament, losing to Ballard in the Regional finals.
