Dallas Center-Grimes’ day at the Waukee Earlybird on March 28 was highlighted by junior Reese Iversen, who set a personal best in the long jump of 6-7, 5 inches higher than runner-up Malique Ziegler of Des Moines East.
His leap is the second-best in the state this season and ties Braydee Poore of Mount Ayr and Jeff Giannettino of West Burlington/Notre Dame.
Josh Prohaska finished fourth in the 3,200 with a time of 10:20.50, and Iversen tied for fifth in the 200 with a time of 24.10.
Prohaska teamed up with Alex Hansen, Jake Lewis and Josh Kidman for a fifth-place finish in the 4x400 in 3:41.60.
The un-scored meet relied on coaches keeping times after the automatic timing system malfunctioned.
