Two Dallas Center-Grimes soccer players have been named first team All-State by the Iowa Soccer Coaches Association.
Mustang senior forward Nathan Fricke and sophomore midfielder Kullen Neyens both were selected to the Class 2A first team following a vote by coaches.
DC-G fell short of qualifying for this year’s state tournament, dropping a sub-state match to county rival Adel-DeSoto-Minburn.
Neyens was one of three sophomores named to the first team. Others were Norwalk midfielder Sam Steenhoek and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn forward Derek Gushiken.
Along with Fricke, seniors picked on the first team were Pella midfielder Jacob Vollmar, Clear Creek-Amana forward Niels van Elsas, Cedar Rapids Xavier forward Isaac Frisch, Norwalk defender Austin Pierangeli, Pella defender Danile Langenfeld and Xavier goalkeeper Paul Cavin.
The first team also included three juniors — Perry forward Pat Ferrusca, A-D-M forward Jacob Hutzell and Spencer forward Hunter Cushma.
