Sixteen total events spread out across both boys and girls track teams will be representing A-D-M high school at the state track meet in Des Moines May 17 through May 19.


A-D-M girls (ten events):


Keaton Kester leads the charge once again in the 100 meter dash. The senior enters the state meet tied for seventh in the state with a time of 12.09 seconds. Kester is also prevalent in the 200 meter dash where she ranks fourth in the state with a time of 25.02 seconds. The Class 3A 100 meter dash will take place on Thursday, May 17 at 6:37 p.m while the 200 meter dash event will take place at 4:30 p.m Thursday.


Junior Sadie Juergens is back for a repeat performance on the blue oval as well. Juergens earned her spot in the field of 24 with the state’s eighth best time of 2:26.02 in the 800 meter run. She will take on the event Saturday, May 19 beginning at 10:50 a.m. Juergens will also partake in the 1500 meter run Saturday at 3 p.m. Juergens earned a spot in the field with a time of 5:08.81.


Sami Schepers came through and made it to the state meet in the 100 meter hurdles thanks to her time of 16.21 seconds set in qualifying. The Class 3A 100 meter hurdle event will take place with prelims on Friday, May 18 beginning at 3:50 p.m. The 400 meter hurdles will also have an A-D-M Tiger as Anna Kenny will represent. Kenny earned her spot ont he blue oval with a time of 1:07.09


The Tiger girls will also be involved in four relay events including the 4x100 shuttle hurdle relay (Kristen Baier, Abigail Calligan, Holland Zwank, Sami Schepers), the 4x100 (Josi Lonneman, Sami Schepers, Annak Kenny, Keaton Kester), the 4x800 meter relay, and the distance medley relay.


A-D-M boys (six events):

The Tiger boys find themselves represented in six events beginning with the 200 meter dash. Trey Volz put up his best time of the season to qualify for the state meet with a time of 22.94 seconds. The Class 3A boys 200 meter dash event will take place on Thursday, May 17 and will begin at 4:50 p.m.


The Tigers will also have representation in the 110 meter hurdles thanks to Luke Heitz. Heitz was a Drake Relays participant and earned a trip to the state with a time of 14.88 seconds. Heitz will be performing double duty as he is also involved in the 400 meter hurdles thanks to his time of 56.86 seconds. Both events will begin with prelims on Friday with the 110 meter hurldes beginning at 3:30 p.m and the 400 meter hurdles beginning at 5:10 p.m.


Nathan Mueller rightfully earned a trip to the state meet after earning a district championship in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:36.97.


The A-D-M boys will also be participating in two relay events including the 4x800 meter relay (Gustavs Klavis, Braeden Hegarty, Nathan Mueller, Rylan Heffernan) and the distance medley relay (Lucas Heitz, Colton Pirtle, Volz, Heffernan).
