Another successful outing for the Dallas Center-Grimes boys’ golf team Monday as the Mustangs won their dual over Woodward-Granger.
The Mustangs were inside the friendly confies of Beaver Creek Golf Course where they took down the Hawks 172 to 190.
Derek Shanno and Nick Towne paced the way for the Mustangs, both with a nine hole round of 40. Shanno used four pars and one birdie to notch his four-over par round while Towne posted three pars and a birdie en rout to his four-over par 40. Both Towne and Shanno tied for the meet medalist honor.
The pairs doubled up for Dallas Center-Grimes as the tandem of Tate Calease and Carter Bowen both took 46 strokes to finish their nine holes. Bowen was the only Mustang to conqure hole nine with a par thanks to a nice approach and equally nice final put.
Keegan Bianchi was a little uncharacteristic like with a nine hole mark of 48, six shots off of his season low score. Darren Werth had an unfortunate mishap on hole two that set him back early but corrected things from there on out to stake claim to a score of 50.
