The Dallas Center-Grimes Fillies played the Oskaloosa Indians on Friday, Dec. 15. The Fillies dominated the game, taking out the Indians 81-7.
The Fillies allowed the Indians all seven of their points in the first half. In the second half, the Fillies out scored the Indians 31-0 and 11-0.
Jenna Borchers scored 28 points on her own to lead the Fillies. Borchers put up nine field goals, two three pointers and made all four of her free throws.
Freshman Julia Reis was the Fillies second leading scorer. Reis scored five three pointers and one free throws for a total of 16 points. Out of the team’s eight three pointers, Reis led with her five.
Lexi Protzman led the Fillies in rebounds. She had a total of four rebounds, all of which were offensive.
Borchers, Lauren Osborn, Elizabeth Elfvin and Leticia Nolte were the second leaders in rebounds. All four Fillies had three rebounds. Both Osborn and Borchers had two offensive and one defensive rebounds, Elfvin had all offensive rebounds and Nolte had one offensive and two defensive rebounds.
Borchers also led the team in assists and steals with five a piece. Jordan Cunningham followed Borchers with four assists and steal each.
With the victory, the Fillies have a 6-2 record on the season. They will be playing Grinnell tonight (Dec. 19) at 6:15 p.m.
