On Nov. 28 the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs played the Southeast Polk Rams. The Mustangs won the game 60-45.
The Mustangs led the game throughout. They started with a 9-4 lead in the first quarter, and continued the lead, outscoring the Rams up until the fourth quarter.
Senior Steve Borneman was the leading scorer against the Rams. Steve Borneman put up a whopping 23 points, including five field goals, one three pointer and ten free throws. Damon Clapper was the second leading scorer. He had 11 points from his three field goals, one three pointer and two free throws.
Steve Borneman also led the Mustangs in rebounds. He finished the game with a total of 12 rebounds, two offensive and ten defensive.
Clapper had five of the Mustangs’ 11 assists. Steve Borneman followed Clapper with three assists. Clapper and Tyler Borneman were the two leaders in steals for Mustangs with two a piece. The Mustangs didn’t have any blocks against the Rams.
After their victory over the Rams, the Mustangs are 2-0 on the season. The Mustangs will play again on Friday, Dec 1 against Norwalk at 7:15 p.m.
