The Dallas Center-Grimes Fillies’ volleyball season came to a tough end on Monday, Oct. 30. The Fillies took on the Lewis Central Titans in the Class 4A Region 3 Championship.


The Fillies fell to the Titan in three-straight sets in the Championship match. The first two sets, the Fillies fell 25-13. In the third set, the Fillies were a little stronger, but still lost 25-19.


The Fillies had a rough night hitting, finishing up the set with just 18 successful kills and a negative kill efficiency.


Katelyn Knudsen led the Fillies with six kills against the Titans. Knudsen was followed by Hannah Ashley and Abby Greiman who each had four kills. Unfortunately, all three had a negative efficiency.


Ally Ferguson led the Fillies in assists and digs. She had 15 of the team’s 17 assists and 11 of 40 digs.


Greiman and Grace Mikota had the last two assists for the Fillies. The second leader of digs was Dakota Miles with a total of six.


The Fillies were able to put up 14 blocks against the Titans. Greiman and Leticia Nolte led the team with four block assists each.


As a team, the Fillies had 42 successful serves out of 47 and had a serve efficiency of 0.894. The also had scored a team total of four aces.


Kamryn O’Brien led the Fillies with 11 successful serves and two aces. O’Brien finished the match with a serve efficiency of 0.917.


Ferguson was the second leader in serves for the Fillies. She finished with an efficiency of 0.909 after ten of her 11 serves were successful. Ferguson also score one ace.


The fourth aces was made by Miles. Miles had five successful serves out of her total of seven for a 0.714 efficiency.


Although their season came to an end with a 3-0 loss, the Fillies finished the season with a 27-8 overall record.
