The Dallas Center-Grimes Fillies had a strong game against the Pella Christian Eagles on Oct. 3. The Fillies and the Eagles played four sets and the Fillies came out with a 3-1 victory.
The first set was the only set the Fillies lost, but it was by just two points (25-23). The Fillies then fought back and won the next three matches (25-17, 25-12 and 25-20).
Katelyn Knudsen was the leading hitter for the Fillies. She finished the match with 19 kills, six errors and 54 attack attempts. Knudsen had a kill efficiency of 0.271.
Hannah Ashley and Abby Greiman were the second leading hitters. Both Fillies finished the match with nine kills and three errors. Ashley had an efficiency of 0.231 from her 26 attack attempts and Greiman had an efficiency of 0.375 with 16 attack attempts.
Setter Ally Ferguson had 41 of the Fillies’ 43 assists. The Fillies had 56 digs against the Eagles; the leader for the Fillies was Dakota Miles with 14. Kamryn O’Brien was the second leader of digs with her total of 12.
The Fillies had a whopping 32 blocks against the Eagles. Junior Tiffany Denger had 13 blocks on her own, six of which were block assists and seven that were solo blocks. The second leader of blocks was Ferguson, who had eight. Ferguson had six assists and two solo blocks.
Miles had three of the Fillies’ four aces. She also led the team in serves by making 25 of her 29 serves over the net for an efficiency of 0.862.
The fourth ace was scored by Ferguson, who had a serve efficiency of 0.867 and went 13-for-15 on her serves.
The Fillies’ next match is on Thursday, Oct. 5 at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn at 7 p.m.
